Today has been one of those days. You know, the kind that make you regret waking up. This pregnancy has really taken a toll on me. I've been more tired, irrational, moody, all the things that I hate. I remember being pregnant with my girls and loving every second of it! That includes the bout of morning sickness I had the entire time I was pregnant with Sophie! I know that it is worth it in the end. When I get to meet the little guy who's been taking up refuge in my uterus. Until then, at least I have this picture to admire him by.

I've been spending a lot of time with my girls. I wonder how hard it is going to be on them to welcome a new baby. Not just any baby but a boy baby. Sophie won't be the baby much longer and I don't think she's going to like that very much.

A new beginning..

I decided that if i'm ever going to get back into blogging i'm going to have to just start.

So i'm starting.

This is me starting.

I was sitting and debating on whether or not I wanted to spend a lot of time back tracking the last year of my life. A lot has happened in the last year. Here are some highlights (not in chronological order).

1. We moved. Twice

2. Bobby had a party, with a jump house.

3. Chloe graduated preschool and started Kindergarten.

4. We visited Great Grandma and Great Grandpa in California.

4. We went to Knott's Berry Farm.

5. Little Rocky left on his mission

6. Pam and Brittany have come and gone back to school more times then I would like.

7. We got another dog and a duck.

8. We played dress up & saved the world

9. I started couponing and saving TONS of money!

10. We are expecting a BABY BOY in November!

On April 12Th, 2009 I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was pretty much one of the best decision I've ever made!

I took the missionary lessons for the first time in the winter of 2007. I was 34 weeks pregnant with my second daughter at the time. I was having a hard time in my life and was looking desperately for a way to make it better. I knew that I needed to have the Lord in my life, I knew that I needed to have him with me, to help me and guide me.

Bobby's wonderful Aunt and family were Mormon and I knew that I wanted to be like them. I wanted the happiness and love that they had for one another. I wanted Bobby to be a wonderful husband, father, son just like his uncle was. I wanted to feel peace within myself. To feel like I belonged somewhere. To feel accepted (even though I already was) in the family and feel like I had a common bond with them. I thought being Mormon would fix all of my troubles.

My first encounter with the missionaries was pleasant. I was taught by 3 sister missionaries who were desperate for me to feel the spirit and be baptized into the church. By the 3rd lesson they wanted me to commit to a baptismal date of December 23rd. I felt very pressured. I went home and prayed about the decision that I had to make. At that time in my life I knew what they were teaching me was true and I desperately wanted it more then anything. But I knew that I was chasing after a fantasy of a quick fix. So I kindly declined there offer, not because I wasn't interested, but because I needed to do it for the right reasons.

On December 23rd my daughter Sophie was born. Nothing else mattered at that time. I still attended church with Ellen and her family. I felt at home at church, I felt comfortable with the ward, I felt accepted and like I belonged. I tried talking Bobby into taking missionary lessons with me again on a few occasions over a 6 month period. He wasn't interested, and I never pushed him. I figured when the time was right I would get my lessons and be a member of the church. By mid June Bobby and I started looking for a place to move to. We talked about moving back down to south phoenix (to be by all his friends), moving closer to my mother (so she could help with the girls), and moving more north to be closer to Ellen and her family. I pushed hard to move closer to Ellen, to get us closer to her ward. I knew that when I became a member of the church, I wanted it to be in the ward I had grown in. In July I got my wish and we moved into the Cactus View Ward boundaries. I was excited!

In November Pamella left on her mission for the church. She wrote me wonderful, inspiring letters. We talked about faith and the power of prayer. I confided in her, and she helped me to see that I was ready to be a member of the church for all the right reasons! I was excited!! Ellen helped me to "trick" Bobby into taking the missionary lessons with me. Our first lesson was in February of '09 with Elder White and Elder Saunders. It was a great Lesson and I was able to actually listen and learn knowing that I wanted to be baptised and not feeling the anxiety of "how do I tell them no". My second lesson was with Elder White and Elder Van Orden (above: Elder White on the left and Elder Van Orden on the Right). They stayed together and taught me, and stayed through my baptismal interview. The Wednesday before my baptism Elder Van Orden was transferred and missed my baptism. I was really sad about it. I really wanted him to be there.. I was comfortable with him and didn't like the idea of someone new coming in and taking over. That was until I met Elder Chalmers (picture on the right). He was funny and had an awesome British accent. It was hard to not mimic his accent when he talked. And he tried hard to not let it show, but it snuck out every once in a while. Elder White and Elder Chalmers stayed and taught use for a while... At least 3 transfers before Elder White had to leave. They were on of my favorite pairs. They were both good with the girls, and had a lot of patience with both me and Bobby. We got really close to them while they were here. We were sad when they both moved on from our ward....

Side tracked sorry..Back to the baptism...

So on Easter Sunday we got up and got ready for church as usual. It was weird sitting in sacrament and thinking, this is the last Sunday that I will sit here as a non member... But at the same time, I had been attending church pretty regularly so it was almost as though I was already a member, and my baptism was just a confirmation of that. After church we went to the Black's house for Easter lunch/dinner / Grandpa's birthday. It was fun but very nerve racking... Sitting and counting down the hours until my baptism was like pulling teeth. I just wanted to go and do it already!! At the same time, I was sad that Pamella wouldn't be there to share that moment with me. Whether she believes it or not, I believe she is the reason that I was getting baptised. I give her all the credit, well next to the missionaries for teaching me, and Ellen and Rocky for lending us their house... but other then that, it was Pam.

We were supposed to be at the stake center at 5, the baptism started at 5:30. About 4 I got a terrible headache. I think all the waiting and excitement took a toll on me. So I went and laid down in Brittany's bed and fell asleep.. Before I knew it, it was already 5 and we were scrambling to leave the house!

We got to the stake center and the Elders were already there setting up chairs, and trying to get everything ready. They showed me where my white suit was.. They had 1 size too small or 2 sizes too big.. I was told bigger is better so I got changed and hurried to the foyer to take pictures. I was really starting to get nervous.. A lot of people were showing up, Brittany had mailed out soo many invitations!!! It was time to start and the room was full. I took my seat next to my husband and Rocky and an Opening prayer started the program.

It was time to get into the waters of baptism. I was lucky enough to have Rocky baptising me. I know that it was probably hard on his back, but I really appreciated it and it meant so much to me to have someone in my family baptise me. And in the middle of this spiritual moment Chloe cries out "Why is uncle pushing mommy under the water" in the most terrified voice you could ever imagine. It was funny and sad at the same time. After we were finished, I changed as quickly as possible thanks to Brittany. Bobby and Brittany gave wonderful talks. I was very excited to have Bobby give a talk. After they were finished it was time to bare my testimony. Did I mention there were a lot of people there?? I don't take well in front of people. I'm pretty sure that was the shortest testimony that anyone had ever heard!! I had so much more that I wanted to say, I just couldn't bring myself to say it! After the program was over, we had wonderful refreshments that Ellen and Grandma prepared for us. I walked around and visited with people. So many friends were there and family. My sister even showed up! It was nice to have so much love and support!!

The following Sunday at church I was confirmed into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost which was laid upon me by dear Elder White. It was so touching, and I could literally feel the Holy Ghost as Elder White laid his hands upon my head. Now its been 1 year since my baptism. Bobby and I are currently working on going to the temple to be sealed to one another and our children for all time and eternity.

I know this church is true. I am so blessed to be a member. I am thankful to all of the people that have helped me along the way to become the person I am today. I am so grateful to Elder White, Elder Van Orden, and Elder Chalmers who all taught me and participated in my baptism and confirmation. I am so blessed to know that one day I will be sealed to my family and be able to spend eternity in heaven with my children and husband.

One of my favorite cousins came to visit the weekend before Easter. She was only here for a short weekend to celebrate her boyfriends birthday. It was nice to see them!!! We only had the chance to hang out for a couple hours on Monday before her fight back to Denver. We Spent the time talking and catching up. Hopefully we will get a chance to make it out to Denver to visit them soon!!

Summer's Birthday

My sister turned 21 on March 1st. I have to make a big deal about her birthday's because she blames Chloe for ruining her birthday. It isn't Chloe's fault that she was born 3 days before her birthday!! But you try telling that to the middle child!!

Ellen was kind enough to watch my children so I could take my sister out to dinner. It was nice to not have to worry about spilled juice, or cutting food in tiny toddler size bites. We sat and visited, and actually had a grown up conversation. Most of the time I spend with my sister is when we are doing things with my girls. Everyone knows when the girls are around the world revolves around them!

Anyway, its strange that my little sister is already 21. We started talking about age and how time has flown by. I started thinking of all of my old friends and how "old" they are now. That's when Summer so kindly reminded me that I'm getting "old" myself. I can't believe I am going to be 25 this year... It seems like only yesterday I was turning 21!! Its kind of crazy how much my life has changed since I turned 21. I wouldn't change a thing! =0)

Thanks to Chloe, Sophie got her first hair cut. Good thing is that everyone loves it on her. Bad thing is mommy misses her baby curls. I am hoping that the curls will grow back but I'm starting to come to terms with no curls. I mean it was only a matter of time before she lost curls. Chloe has stick straight hair! So here is my very stylish 2 year old with a short bob cut! Enjoy!

The Horses

My sister works for a resort just outside of town. They have lots of great anemities including a gorgeous pool, spectacular suites, beautiful mountain views, and yes horses! The girls were lucky enough to have such a nice aunt who got them an hour sesion of pony rides (and horses). Chloe LOVED riding the horses!! If there were a stronger word to use other then LOVE I would use it here. As soon as we pulled into the resort and she saw the horses her face lit up bigger then anything ive seen before. I mean sure she loves her vanity and baby princess nursery set that Santa got her this year, but clearly there was no comprison. Chloe went first and jumped on the horse without any hesitation. Candace, the ranch hand rode on the horse with her to help keep her balance.

Sophie loved the horses, but was scared out of her mind to ride on them. So Candace was nice enough to get out the pony for Sophie. She got on the pony and loved riding him. After about 4 laps around the corral the little pony had enough. Sophie on the other hand was not ready to let that little pony rest. Candace tried everything to keep the pony moving, but every chance he got he would stop. So we distraced Sophie with the other horses while Chloe had a turn riding the horse again.

The girls had a lot of fun!! The hour flew by and it was very hard to pry the children away from the horses but we promised that they could come back sometime soon and ride the horses again someday soon.

Christmas

Christmas eve Bobby and I were up until 2am putting together the kids gifts. We didn't buy them small things this year. We had decided that we wanted to fix up there bedroom with toys that were durable and would last them. Last year we got them a toy kitchen from BigLots. It lasted 1 month. So this year we got durable thick plastic toys that would take them a little longer to destroy in hopes that it would occupy them enough to actually use the bedroom.

Bobby just wanted to put the big boxes next to the tree (they wouldn't fit under) and then he would put them together that morning. Now maybe if it were someone else I would have believed him. But knowing Bobby I made sure that we stayed up as late as we needed to make sure that it was done and ready for them the next morning. Besides, if they would have opened the huge box and just saw a bunch of pieces that didn't look like anything and liked the box more I would have been terribly sad.

Chloe decided that she was going to sleep in the couch so she could see Santa. It wasn't long before she was passed out on the couch and Bobby and I were bust at work. Chloe did wake up once in the middle of the banging and hammering. She sat straight up on the couch and said "I think I hear Santa".

The next morning we all slept in. When we woke up we got to call and talk to Pamella. It was so nice!! Chloe talked to her for a minute, told her she loved and missed her and asked Pamella if she was going to be her Easter present. I thought it was funny. She told Pam that she had to go because Santa brought her presents and she cant wait anymore. We let Sophie say hi to Pam next. I had been working with Soph to get Pam's name down!! And it was well worth it. She told her I love you and I miss you and some other things that I'm thinking were in a foreign language but that was okay because she got out the "I love you Pamella" and that was enough. I talked to her for a few more minutes and said out goodbyes. Then the girls and I went into the room to wake up daddy to tell him that Santa had come.

After they had opened all the presents under the tree I told them that I think Santa left them something in there bedroom. Chloe jumped up and yelled "what is it" as she took off running for her room. I tried to tell her to wait before she went in so I could get a picture of her excited face. Only, she didn't listen and she ran in. She was so excited. It was worth staying up those extra hours to put everything together just for her reaction. Moments like these remind me how lucky I am to be a mom.

After our excitement ran down we went to the Black's house. The girls made out! They each got the cutest outfit, PJ's, and dress up princess shoes. Grandma and Grandpa Black got them a wagon. After bobby got the wagon put together we came home to start cooking our Christmas dinner.

Bobby's mom and boyfriend (?) came over and had dinner with us. I made my dad a plate of food and took it to him in the hospital so he could at least enjoy some tasty food if he wasn't able to be home with us.

When I got back home the Elders were over. I offered them some dinner, they said that they had been to a handful of ward member's houses already and that they weren't really hungry, but ate anyway. Only, I think they became addicted to the ham sauce I made because they kept eating and eating and eating until they passed out. Literally!! After they woke from there nap and left the family and I turned on a movie and just sat in the living room. It was nice and relaxing.. and didn't take long for us all to pass out.

Since my mom wasn't able to make it over on Christmas day we went and visited with her the next day. She had tons of stuff for the girls and they had so much fun with her opening there gifts. My mom ordered pizza and the girls ate and had fun. They made out like bandits on Christmas with all of the gifts they got.

I love being surrounded by family. I am so grateful that I have such a wonderful support system here. The girls are surrounded by so much love and affection. We are truly blessed. I am so happy that I have the gospel in my life, just knowing that my family can be together forever is a wonderful feeling.

Sophie's 2nd Birthday

Sophie's birthday was the Wednesday before Christmas. Last year the weekend before Christmas we celebrated Sophie's birthday, but this year Chloe's surgery was the weekend before Christmas. Instead of trying to force Chloe into a celebration for her sister during her recovery, and for sanity sake of trying to plan a birthday party the week of Christmas, we decided simple was better.

Chloe and I went to walmart and I let her pick out cake mix for Sophie's cake. Chloe thought a pink cake would be perfect as she picked up a box of strawberry cake mix. She wanted her sisters cake to have sprinkles and balloons. Sprinkles, easy. Balloons?? on a cake?? That one was a little tougher.. As we were picking out the sprinkles Chloe noticed cupcake papers (those things you line the cupcake tin with) and they had balloons on them. She was sold. We were no longer making her sister a cake, we were making her dozens on cupcakes. As I was browsing the candles trying to decide if I should light 2 candles or get a number 2 candle I noticed the balloon candles. Sold. Sophie's balloon themed pink cupcakes were now complete with balloon candles.

We got home and Chloe was exhausted from the adventure to walmart so she and Sophie took a nap. I was going to make the cupcakes while they napped and that way when Chloe woke up she could decorate them. Only, I feel asleep too. I woke up to my sister calling for a ride home from work. So I woke up the girls, dressed them and drove out to the resort (which is so far away!!). Since we were already there, my sister and I took the girls across the street so they could pet the horses (to bad I forgot my camera). By the time we got home it was almost 6. I still hadn't made the cupcakes!!!

So I quickly threw all the ingredients together, mixed it, poured it, and baked it. While they were baking I started on dinner. Just as dinner was about to be served the cupcakes were done. I pulled them out of the oven and put them on a make shift cooling rake on our back porch so they would cool faster. By the time everyone was finished eating they were cool enough for decorating.

Since Bobby was at work, and it was just the girls, my sister and myself, I only decorated 4 cupcakes and set the rest aside for later. We sang Happy Birthday to Sophie, and enjoyed our cupcakes.

Chloe didn't want to eat her cupcake. She said it hurt her mouth. She was still kind of tired from all of her pain medicine. So I was happy that I at least got her to smile for me and take one picture before she put her cupcake away and went to bed.

Chloe's Surgery

Chloe had her surgery on December 17th. Exactly 1 week and 1 day until Christmas.

We woke up Thursday morning at 5am so we could be at the surgery center by 630. Chloe was calm, cool, and totally collected for a 3 year old that was about to go under the knife. I on the other hand was nervous, anxious, and terrified for my little ones. I knew that Chloe would be fine thanks to a blessing her uncle gave her.. I wasn't sure about me though. I should have asked for a blessing just for my nerves!!

We stopped at Aunt Ellen's house on our way. She would be there for support, more for me I think then Chloe. We made it to the surgery center with time to spare. Once inside Chloe was excited to see that there were other children there that would be having surgery too. Lilo and Stitch was on the television, there were crayons and coloring pages, and books and stuffed animals from home. She was content and I was shaking on the inside.

After she was registered we sat and talked. We sat there patiently waiting our turn for what was 2 hours but only seemed like minutes. When they called Chloe's name they told us that only 1 person other then myself could go back with Chloe in the pre-op area. Bobby went first while Ellen stayed behind.

We walked into a small room with a giant blue dentist like chair (without all the scary instruments) and 2 maroon chairs. The walls and cabinets were decorated in a "ocean" theme. There were dolphins, lots and lots of brightly colored fish, and other sea creatures stuck to the walls.

The nurses were nice and tried very hard to help me keep the now panicking 3 year old calm. If you didn't know Chloe you would think she was having an ADHD episode, but Chloe gets overly anxious and hyper in nervous situations and the nurses were very calm and patient with her. They gave us a gown with clowns on it, a hair net hat, bright forest green socks, and a dish to put her earring's in. Chloe was fine with the gown, and thought that the clowns were funny (have I ever told you I am scared of clowns!!!) but refused the socks and hair net. I didn't force them on her.. I was choosing my battles carefully and I knew there would be a bigger one soon enough.

Bobby started to get nervous, and Bobby is the type that lets anger show instead of fear. So when he noticed his face was starting to turn red (which didn't take very long), he went and traded with Aunt Ellen so she could have a turn with Chloe. Aunt Ellen has a special charisma about her. She is wonderful with Chloe. Shes actually wonderful with everyone. We took turns reading to Chloe, counting the dolphins and different schools of fish, we played the "I spy" game and did a pretty good job of keeping her distracted.

Doctor Rizzo was in and out in seconds. The OR nurse and Anesthesiologist came in next. The Anesthesiologist asked if I had any questions about the anesthesia. I said no, I didn't want to know how they were going to do it. I was afraid that I would get more nervous if I had to think of them putting my little angel to sleep. Chloe wasn't afraid of the Anesthesiologist, he reminded her of her Uncle Nathan. He had the same dark skin and similar features. She felt safe and confident in the fact that he looked familiar. The nurse started talking about going back and giving me the general surgery information that Dr. Rizzo had just went over. My little Chloe said excuse me to the nurse, to almost didn't hear her faint plea for attention. When she was finally acknowledged by the nurse, she asked when she would get her Popsicles. The nurse took Chloe's hand and started to walk towards the door and told Chloe that she could have any color Popsicle she wanted just after she talked to the doctor.

Before I realised it she was already gone and down the hallway. I didn't get to kiss her or tell her how much I love her and what a brave little girl she being. But I knew that it would be okay. I was happy that she left the room happy and distracted. I would have hated if I prolonged the good-bye and she really got nervous and I had to listen to them drag her down the hall..

When Ellen and I got out front Bobby was standing there pacing.. Unsure of what to expect or how long we would have to just sit and wait. Bobby needed a distraction, so we sent him to QT to get drinks. By the time he got back to the surgery center we had already been waiting about 15 minutes. Bobby was past his angry/nervous stage and had moved on to his more "relaxed" nervous stage which is stupid "worse case scenario" jokes. Yea, no thanks!

Finally the nurse came out and got us. Only 2 at a time so Bobby and I went first. Chloe was crying. I was so sad for her. My eyes teared up and it was taking all of my strength to be strong for my little girl. I walked behind the curtain and she cried for me to hold her. As I made my way around the hospital bed to the chair, my eye were glued on Chloe. Her hair was a mess, her gown was tangled up around her, a pink bandage was trying its best to hold her IV in her little hand, her face red and full of tears. I know she just had her tonsils removed but for some reason my brain wouldn't register that fact. I examined her, I counted fingers and toes, made sure her nose was still symmetric with her face, made sure her eyes were still blue. Maybe to you it sounds silly, and maybe it is. I know, I know, I know it was just her tonsils for crying out loud, but for some reason I thought she would look different, altered, like you would be able to look at her and know that this little girl just had a surgery and they removed a little part of her. But there she was in my arms crying her heart out as she came out of anesthesia looking just like my beautiful little girl.

As I held her she cried and asked my why I let her go with the "mean" doctor. I asked her why the doctor was mean and without a beat, through her alligator tears she told me how that mean doctor made her stop breathing. My heart melted for her. She cried for me to hold her, but I already was. The nurse came over to me and put her arms around me in an affectionate I know how you're feeling kind of way, and I just sat there and rocked my little girl. Bobby was starting to get anxious again. She was crying, coughing, hysterical really and there was nothing he could do. The nurse gave Bobby a Popsicle to try to feed to Chloe, but she wouldn't have it. He tried apple juice and water and she refused both of them. So he did the only thing he could, went and got Ellen.

We sat in the recovery area for about a half hour. We all kept trying to push the fluids. We weren't allowed to leave until she swallowed something. When she finally calmed down enough to speak coherently she asked for water. She drank about 5 sips which made the nurse happy. We struggled to get Chloe dressed and to the car. The more the anesthesia wore off, the calmer she became. Although, she couldn't figure out why her throat hurt. It didn't hurt before she went inside and now she cant swallow, and it hurts to talk.

She spent the next 4 days sleeping it off. Day 5 was Sophie's birthday and I tried really hard to get her up and moving with only 2 days left until Christmas. I started to see a little bit of Chloe coming out of her by Christmas eve, and by Christmas she wasn't back to her old self but she was more then half way there. Finally 9 days after her surgery she is back to her old self. Eating, drinking, playing, screaming, being a happy confident 3 year old going on 30.

We took Chloe to the ENT yesterday. He feels that the best thing for her OSA is to have a tonsil and adenoidectomy. Most doctors wont even do the surgery to kids that are under 4, but he really feels that this is the best thing for her. So we are going to do it. Really this isnt T H A T scary its like a 10 min procedure but it still scares the crap out of me! I mean they have to put her under, and it is still a S U R G E R Y !!!!!! Be strong Sarah!
I started to talk to Chloe about it a little yesterday. Nothing to dramatic or scary. Just that the doctor is going to make her throat better so she can sleep at night and wont choke. She asked me how, I said "magic". Ha. Any ideas on how to tell her or how much she should know??

THE BEACH

Never go to the beach before noon.

Always have a back up parking plan.
Bring lots of wet wash clothes / water bottles.

NEVER bring home a live clam!!

After spending the entire vacation being asked by Chloe "when are we going to the ocean" , it was finally time! I was very fortunate to sleep in this morning. The children woke up early like usual but great grandma came and got them from the room and allowed me to sleep in an extra 30 minutes before Sophie came in and woke me up! Another great breakfast and we were preparing for the beach. Chloe was super excited!! All she could talk about was seeing Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian because they live in the ocean! I didn't have the heart to tell her they wouldnt be there.

We spent most of our time playing in the sand making sand castles for Ariel to live in, searching for sand crabs... because Sebastian is a sand crab didn't you know that! Chloe and I walked the beach in search of the perfect seashell but had little luck. So we kicked around in the water for a little bit. I was up to my knees and chloe was waist deep. She LOVED it, I on the other hand was freezing... My legs were NUMB!!!! Sophie was terified of the water. Everytime a wave came to shore she would run for dry land! As I sat in the wet sand playing with the children Bobby had the easy job of taking pictures... Apparently we should have switched jobs!!! After about 3 min he declared the camera was "dead". Good thing I brough 2 extra sets of batteries with us!! But they were dead too??? They were litteraly BRAND NEW! I had just purchased them the day before. I was very upset that we werent going to be able to capture Sophies first beach trip, or Chloes 3rd!! I will survive afterall the mental pictures can't be deleted!

It was about 1:30 when the girls decided that they were hungry enough to leave the water for just one minute (according to chloe). So we walked back to the van to add time to our meter and we decided that we should clean up all the sand before we headed down the beach for lunch. So Like stated aboue you deffinitly need water and washclothes to get the sand out of there diaper area! Luckily we had the water and we had to use baby wipes so we were okay. After we were cleaned up we walked over to our favorite little pizza place called Ray's. So yummy! After we ate we went to take the girls back to my grandmas so Bobby and I could go back to the beach and have some fun time of our own!

We got to grandmas and both girls were past out! Sun + Fun = NAPS! So Bobby laid the girls in bed and my grandma had the table set for us for lunch! We were already soooo full. I didn't have the heart to tell her that we had already eaten so Bobby and I forced our selves to eat a little bit! After we were done and the kitchen was cleaned I sat on the couch next to Bobby and with one glance we were both thinking the same thing. The beach will have to wait. We would have to go back next summer. We were just too tired and way to full!! So we lounged around and watched movies until the girls woke up. They were sad that we weren't going back to the beach. So instead we filled the pool with water and let them play outside. I went with Grandma to get stuff to make ice cream sundays!

We were sooo exhausted by the long day, and all the sun that I was just useless. I fell asleep on the couch and Bobby and my grandma chased after my children. Finally Bobby woke me up and took me to bed. We had to wake up at 5:30am the next morning.

The alarm went off, I hit the snuzz buttom. They alarm went off again at a quarter til. I jumped out of bed, woke up Bobby and the girls. We quietly finished packing and getting ready so that we wouldn't wake anyone in the house. We walked quietly out of the room and everyone was awake and waiting for us at the kitchen table with breakfast. So yummy!

Then it was time for goodbyes. I HATE goodbyes. Everyone crys. We never have enough time there. I wish that I could just stay with her in California forever!!

Summer Vacation Part II

The 4th of July

Saturday we woke up early. Really early. My children have a built in alarm system. Not like you forget where you park so you hit the panic button, but more like its the crack of dawn (5am) and its ow time to wake up and wake mom and dad too! So I get up with my wide eyed children and we make our way to the living room where great grandma is rocking away in her chair and just waiting anxiously for us to awake, well at least the children. Great grandpa was awake by 6, and Bobby was lucky enough to sleep in until 9! And like the previous morning my grandma made us the most delicious breakfast ever!! Did I mention she likes to spoil us?! So good! After Breakfast Chloe and I made 4th of July cupcakes!

I gave my children a bath and took a very well desired shower and we all got dressed. Chloe decided that she couldn't live another minute without cartoons in her life. So my grandma put them on in her bedroom and Chloe spent most of the early afternoon in there. Her favorite cartoons right now in case you are wondering are Dora, Yo Gabba Gabba, Wonder Pets, and Sponge Bob.

While Chloe watched cartoons Sophie was ready to explore! Sophie and I headed out on our own for a walk.

And then daddy came out and decided to explore with us!

After our walk Sophie was exhausted! So it was nap time for her. Just as she feel asleep Chloe woke up and decided that she was STARVING and needed to eat wunch (lunch).

After lunch she NEEDED a RED cupcake. This was the after effect!

After Lunch and cupcakes Chloe watched another episode of Dora and waited very patiently for Sophie to wake up so they could go swimming. While Chloe was waiting, my grandma and I decided that we would have a Ceveche cook off. I totally won. My grandma on the other hand chooses to believe that she won. But the facts are in, everyone ate mine and no one ate hers!! Sophie woke up and it was time for the pool, again.

While the children were swimming I owned the BBQ and grilled some delicious RIBS and Hot Dogs! Yumm!! While I was grilling my grandma made the best baked beans ever, pasta salad, and corn on the cob!! Best BBQ ever!

After dinner everyone needed to relax. Some of us more then others...

While everyone rested I cleaned up the dinner dishes and handed out cupcakes. So yummy! After the kitchen was cleaned I changed the girls into there PJ's and we waited for the sun to set so we could do fireworks!! The girls were a little anxious so we went and sat outside a little early!

Eventually the sun set and it was time for firworks! First were the SPARKLERS!

Bobby was in DANGER with the sparklers!

The noise from the fireworks scared the kids, so they climbed into the back of the van and stole glances of the fireworks, and were mesmerized by the bright flickering colors and loud noises!

After the noise started to settle down, the decided to come and sit with me on the lawn and watch the fireworks that were in the distance. Occasionally Sophie would get scared and hide her head in my chest. Overall it was an amazing 4th of July! We had a great time! Thanks Grandma!!

Summer Vacation Part I

We left our house on Friday at 1am and headed down the dark winding roadway for what seemed like forever. On the way to California we were distracted by a crazed driver who turned out to be a drunken fool! At the cost of everyone on the road he drove spuraticaly not taking into consideration the families on the roadway with him. After nearly being driven off the shoulder by this man Bobby and I made the decision to call DPS. They were determined to catch the man as badly as we were determined for him to be caught! So an hour into our journey to Beach land was spent on the phone with a very nice DPS man giving exact locations of where the drunk man was. And yes, he was pulled over, and then we were able to continue on our own journey!

With the children sound asleep in the backseat I crossed the Arizona California border about 3am. It was dark and lonley driving while Bobby and the children slept. I made up songs and storys and told them to my self as I drove along. I went as far to make up jokes to keep my mind occupied but that was a failure, I already knew the punch lines. So I decided to wake up Bobby and trade me places. Bobby took the wheel like a champ and I slept soundly until Indio. From Indio threw Riverside we talked about everything and nothing at all. Every once in a while Chloe would awaken without a peep and stick her two cents into our conversation which made us laugh even more! We found ourselves wondering how old Chloe really is.

About 6:30 we pulled into my grandmas drive way and were greated with loads of hugs and smiles. As always my grandmas house smelled of fresh baked goods! After everyone settled down we had the best breakfast ever!! My grandma always goes all out when we are there!! I love her so much!! After breakfast Bobby took a well deserved nap and I gave the children a bath and dressed them for our day.

Like always the first thing we did was go shopping! We started at Walmart and ended at the fireworks stand, stopping in between at Sam's Club for the BBQ stockpile.

Shopping always has a marvelous effect on my children. We purchased all the fixins for a great 4th of July BBQ that would make everyones mouth water (more on the BBQ later). After we got home and unloaded all the bags and boxes the children were ready for FUN!! So we put on the babsoups (bathing suits) and headed to the pool

Okay, so I guess I should have specified plastic pool. Non the less the girls LOVED it! After we got all dried off and into some PJ's it was time for dinner. Chloes favorite, baked pasta! We headed to bed early we were exhausted from the driving and lack of sleep, or atleast I was! So to bed we went to reast our heads and tired muscles.

Saturday: We were busy!!! We went to Desert Ridge and let the kids play in the water. Afterward came home, went swimming and had a BBQ!! There is a movie on the side of Sophie swimming. She is so cute!!!!! She swims like a tadpole!

Sunday: Woke up with a HUGE headache!!! Went to church. Came home. Cleaned the house. Started dinner, home teachers came over. Chloe put on a show like always. Watched movies and went to bed early!!

Monday: Woke up just in time. Went to work. Busy busy busy day at work. The children spent the day with Brittany played dress up?? So Bobby and I took advantage of this and decided to go and see a movie. Seriously its been atleast 7 months since Bobby and I went to a movie together without kids!!! So refreshing!!! I was taking advantage of the "grown up" movie and decided to watch Star Trek. Loved it!!! Probably the last 10 minutes of the movie I totally got another headache!!!!! Sooo intense I wanted to cry. Came home made cupcakes for the Blacks. Went to lay down..... What felt like minutes later (was actually 2 hours later) Bobby came and woke me up so we could go to the Blacks for dinner and FHE. Could not get out of bed for the life of me. I really thought I had a brain annyerism and was going to die in my sleep. I started thinking about the last time I seen the kids awake (Sunday night) and if I kissed them goodnight!!! It was sad. I said a prayer and went back to sleep. So Bobby went without me, even though he didnt want to and was angry that I couldnt just get up and go. Im sure Bobby and the children came home sometime Monday night, but I couldnt tell you when. I never woke up that night!!!

Tuesday: Woke up after 11 hours of sleep to my alarm and my never ending headache. You would think after 11 hours of sleep and 10 Excedrin Migraine that my headache would be gone. NOPE. I had a headache all day today. I couldnt function at work. I was usless. Came home, made lunch, took a nap with Sophie, and woke up to a minimal headache... but I can function now. Made dinner and have found time to update my blog!!! Prayed that I never E V E R get a headache again in my life that makes me feel so bad!!!

Hopefully tomorrow I can go back to my normal routine and spend the day with my chidren outside in this wonderful heat finding ways to beat it!! Brittany, you HAVE to find a day to come swimming with us. The children will definitly amaze you!!! They swim so good for being so little... Although I am sure all the flotation devices I strap to them help just a litte. ;o)

Memorial Day Bliss

Memorial Day bliss at Rio Vista splash park!

After we left the splash park we came home, went swimming, had a BBQ, watched movies, went to bed late. This was one of the best days with my children and husband in a long time. Between Bobby's work schedule and other obligations, and church we usually don't have time to do family fun events TOGETHER!!! So this was def a good day!! I promised my self, and the children, that I would make it a point to take them to the splash park at least twice a week (you should come its fun, yes you. And you are invited too!!). There are so many little kids for them to play with. We love it.

On another note, I have very limited internet access. So I decided instead of trying to back post, I will start with current and work my way back!!! So stay tuned, we are back in business!!!

Seriously, my last post was in February?!?

There has been a lot of things going on. Sophie acquired Pneumonia, 2 weeks later Chloe acquired Bronchitis, and here I sit on my living room couch, house to my self with Bronchitis. Funny how no matter how hard you try you just keep passing it back around.

I promise a picture post soon with all the pictures from Chloe at Chuckie Cheese, and at her birthday breakfast. My computer is broken and I am having to resort to Summers lap top and no way to upload my pictures. I mean really, who really keeps camera drivers once they are already installed on the computer anyway!?!

a night to remember....

Last night we had dinner at Ellen's house. As always very tasty!! Im going to steal her recipe!!! After dinner was our meeting with the Missionaries. It was really good!! I took a lot more in, asked a lot more questions then before. I feel better about it this time around. I think that last time even though I may have had the right intentions to learn about the church I was more caught up in my own drama, and being very pregnant!! That was in 2007!! Wow!! I didn't realize it was soo long ago!! I could definitely feel the spirit last night in Ellen's home. I loved it!!

So after we said our goodbyes we drove home, put the children down with little effort! And eventually put my self down to catch a few ZZZ's before my 2:30 wake up call!

About midnight Chloe comes in my room hysterical. She is begging to have her diaper changed! So Bobby being the good husband and father that he is (can you feel the sarcasm?!?) gets up without any demands of me to take care of Chloe. Not even a minute after he leaves the room I hear him cry for help! So up I get!! I knew it was too good to be true!! I walk in the living room trying to figure out what part of changing a harmless diaper could cause such a commotion and then I saw it.

Chloe, the couch, the blanket, everywhere I looked I could see remnants of last nights yummy dinner. So I gabbed Chloe and started off towards our room. Bobby followed asking what I was going to do with her, surly I wasn't going to put her in our bed covered in poo. No Bobby, the shower! So after she was cleaned Bobby made the mistake of walking into Chloe's room where we found poo and vomit covering both children's beds entirely!! Good job Bobby, remember that ole' saying "thou who finds the poo cleans the poo" he didn't remember, but I sure did!! Lucky for me he did this without complaining!! He is very good at cleaning "things" the children "mess" but the "mess" on the children grosses him out? This mind you is the same man that loved onion rings, but HATES onions??? Anyway, after she was cleaned and in new PJ's and the most of the living room and bedroom that would fit were in the washing machine, we headed off to dreamland again. This time with Chloe by my side just in case there was another accident!!

30 minutes after we are all snuggled and warm and heading to that happy place, or approximately 1:30 (yes 1 hour before I have to wake up!!) Sophie wakes up coughing and crying. A bad mixture which can in some circumstances to lead to vomit, which I have had enough of tonight, starts coughing that deep rattling wake up the dead cough. At that moment I knew. No work for me today, instead 2 doctors appointments in less then an hour.....

California Vacation part II

It was a crisp 44 degrees on that early Valentines day morning when I quietly walked into the room where Chloe was asleep to wake her for her big adventure! A smooth rub of her back and a soft whisper of words "wake up princess, today we are going to the happiest place on earth." Her porcelain face broke a smile and then her bright blue eyes opened and she said "are we going to see Ariel?!!"We had a quick bath. She was to excited to sit in the bath, we had an important day ahead of us after all. Just as quick as the bath was her breakfast! Great grandma had made a big breakfast to start our big day, pancakes, eggs, sausage... She ate as fast as she could, barley chewing every bite. She was to excited for all of this suspense of going o Disneyland, she wanted to be at Disneyland already!!!After breakfast we got dressed in our Valentines Day dress (that Mini Mouse would die for), pick tails with white bows, red tights, and pink princess shoes!

And finally, off to Disneyland we go!!

After we went on Dumbo, we waited in line for 2 hours so she could see the Princess'. She was good compared to the amount of time we had to just sit and wait, or stand rather. First she saw Jasmine, then Ariel, and lastly Cinderella and Prince Charming. This was by far the highlight of her day!!

It was sooo cute, after she saw Jasmine she looked over and saw Ariel and got super excited, ran, cut off the couple in front of us, screamed Ariels name, and nearly knocked her over as she gave her the ultimate hug that even the women that birthed her has yet to experience! And with the sweetest, softest voice she proclaimed her love for Ariel.

Prince Charming and Cinderella!

After hugging Cinderella, she spent her remaining seconds snuggled with Prince Charming telling him over and over " I just love you Prince Charming"! It was the cutest thing ever. Watch out Cinderella, here comes Chloe!!

Pluto!

After she saw Pluto we headed across the way to California Adventure where Chloe chose her last ride to be Monsters Inc, Of course she did, she loves " Mike Wabaski". After her cab ride around Monstropolis we headed for the tram to take us to our car. Even after 5 hours of walking on her own two little feet around Disneyland she still had a very tired smile n her face as we left.

If for no other reason, no other pictures or memories other then the last one above, I believe that Disneyland is really the happiest place on earth!!!!

As im sure you can guess, she was asleep before we made it out of the Mickey and Friends parking garage

Trip to the mall part II

Chloe has a outfit. You know the one that she wants to wear all the time and it doesnt matter if its dirty or that she wore it 3 days in a row...

at least its cute!!
And yes, that is the shirt that Pamella bought her last Valentines Day!! What does that mean you ask? Chloe is finally slimming out. Yay for growth spurts! That skirt she is wearing used to be so tight that we couldn't button it without her crying, and now it practically falls off of her!
Speaking of growing... look at Sophie!

She is getting sooooo big! Everyone keeps asking me if I cut her hair. And for the record no I don't cut her hair! Once when she was 7months I cut the wispy hairs that were in her eyes but I haven't cut it!

So we are at the mall play area. Sophie is having a blast! Chloe is so ready to not be there... I wish I could have gotten a picture of her, she started organizing the other kids shoes!! I had to pull her away because some of the other kids thought she was stealing there shoes. So she went down the car slide once and asked if we could go and eat "wunch".

After she ate to her hearts content we left the mall..

Im in the kitchen making Sophie a bottle and Chloe walks in with my phone and hands it to me. I took it, sat it down on the counter, and continued to poor Sophie's milk. The conversation between me and Chloe went something like this;

Chloe: no! mom I need to call somebody
me: who do you need to call
Chloe: I need to call my Pam and tell her to come home now so I can go and see her at Ellen's
me: (looking sad for her)
me: but Chloe we cant call cousin Pam.
Chloe: Why
Chloe: because shes far away and not coming back?
me: oh Chloe! Pam is going to come back! She loves you sooo much!!

I tackled it. I took the kids to mall by myself!!! Now maybe to some of you this isn't a big deal and that is for 1 of 2 reasons.
1. you have never met my kids.
2. you have never met me.
So we were walking toward the play area at Arrowhead and Chloe saw it. It was inevitable. And then she asked "can we go into that store with the BIG bear"! Now if you have ever meet Chloe then you know that I couldn't resist! It was her first time inside of Build a Bear (unless you count the time she was in my womb). She was so excited! So much so that I was unable to take pictures!!

After Chloe made her Panda Bear she decided that Sophie needed a bunny so she wont be sad. Let me tell you, Chloe is so sweet when it comes to Sophie and not leaving her out! So Chloe found the perfect bunny filled it with stuffing and kissed her heart and placed it deep inside the bunny. I asked her if she made a wish for Sophie and she said "yes, for a bunny"! Aww When it was all done and washed and brushed she gave it to sister and sissy gave Chloe the biggest, make your heart melt with happiness smile!! Needless to say, Sophie did not let that lil bunny go all night!

After the bunny and panda makin' we made it to the play area. Of course the kids were all over the place.

Sophie tried following the kids while they ran in circles screaming foreign languages, but being so tiny she couldn't keep up. She found a shiny cactus like slide and slobbered all over it. yay for disinfectant!!

Chloe tried running with the "big" crowd. They wanted nothing to do with her! It was sad. At one point they blocked her so she couldn't climb on the car and when she asked them if she could play they told her no. In her sad voice she asked them why and they told her because they were locking her out! It was the saddest thing ever!! Chloe said to them, are you going to lock me in a cage (i don't know why she associated that with a cage?!?) and the little girl said yes!!! Practically in tears and barley a whisper she said why and the girls just turned away from her.
Sooooo Sad!
I wanted to cry for her!!
She went and found Sophie and then we left.
I loaded the girls in the car.
Made it out of the mall parking lot,
to the light by Old Navy
and they were both out!

Today after work we went to the park. The kids LOVE the park. I think that they love it more then anything else in the entire world for those few moments when they can run with the wind in there hair and sand in there tennis shoes! I would have to say that there favorite part of going to the park are the swings!

...but my favorite part

is the drive home...

The Phoenix Zoo

Friday Summer and I took the kids to the Phoenix Zoo. It has been years since Ive been there!! I vow that I will never, never! go to the Zoo with Summer again!!! When I was younger I had the energy for the zoo but now with two little ones and an awkward work schedule, not so much! Needless to say I was exhausted!! I wanted to leave before the Lions and Tigers. Chloe and Summer just wouldn't have it! According to Chloe we HAD to see Simba (the lion king) and Tigger (winnie the pooh) and we couldnt leave until we did!!
